Our product portfolio includes single-screw, counter- and co-rotating twin-screw extruders, along with corresponding pipe heads and downstream equipment. All components are engineered for maximum productivity, while saving energy and material and ensuring high product quality.

Why our Extrusion Line stands out

Our extruders, pipe tooling, calibration systems, and downstream components are tailored to your requirements and have proven their performance many times. Energy-efficient drives and optimized process technology ensure sustainable pipe production. Single-screw extruders with 36 L/D barrier screws deliver high output and excellent melt quality. Twin-screw extruders with 36 L/D and 32 L/D designs enable the processing of a wide range of formulations with a broad process window.

Pipe tooling ensures pipes with outstanding surface quality and minimal tolerances. Our proprietary control system manages entire lines with multilayer configurations, records process data, integrates with ERP and MES systems, and provides the foundation for autonomous operation.

Applications

PE pressure pipes

PE pressure pipes for drinking water are globally established. KraussMaffei Extrusion offers efficient systems with single-screw extruders and spiral mandrel pipe heads for diameters from 10–2000 mm. From single- to multilayer pipes, solutions include innovations like Inner Pipe Cooling for shorter lines and Quick Switch for automatic dimension changes, maximizing overall equipment effectiveness.

PVC multilayer Pipes

PVC multilayer lines offer a great symbiose between performance and economic efficiency. KraussMaffei Extrusion lines offer the possibility to use cost efficient materials in the core layer like regrind or foamed material, combined with skin layers showing an excellent wall thickness distribution.

Hot water transport

Transporting hot water requires high-performance plastic pipes. With growing demand for underfloor and wall heating as well as combined heating and cooling solutions, the need for flexible, easy-to-install systems is increasing. KraussMaffei Extrusion provides highly productive lines: robust extruders, advanced pipe heads and tooling, as well as a powerful control system ensure a reliable, efficient pipe production.

Sewage Pipes

Technology Center

Our Technology Center in Laatzen offers a state-of-the-art facility for test runs and development projects for all kinds of innovations in the extrusion business. We always have a wide range of different extruders and pipe heads available, enabling us to process PVC, PE, PP and engineering polymers necessary for your project.
