Thanks to our extensive knowledge, KraussMaffei Extrusion delivers uniquely developed extruders and aggregates, combined with feeding systems, take-away conveyors, and solutions for thickness and weight measurement.

Why our Extrusion Line stands out

KraussMaffei Extrusion systems for tire and rubber products stand for high availability, performance, and quality. Our extruders achieve high output rates at low melt temperatures, combining productivity with excellent processing. Multiplex tire heads ensure uniform melt flow, minimize overheating risks, and provide great flexibility. Whether tread, sidewall, or combination lines, flat products such as inner liners or specialty sheets – we deliver efficient complete solutions. For rubber hoses, we offer classic crossheads and automatic centering heads that reduce scrap and optimize tolerances.

Applications

Production of Tread and Sidewall Profiles

Our Multiplex extrusion heads are capable of handling up to seven different components.

Our portfolio includes the MP360 (mainly for bicycle- and small PCR tires), the MP550 (for PCR and TBR tires), and the MP850 (for TBR tires and OTR tires). The unique head design provides perfectly balanced flow channels and enables fast changeover times.

Production of Innerliner, Conveyer belts, printing blankets, tank lining and every flat rubber product

With our Rollerhead application, we can produce flat or profiled rubber sheets in widths ranging from 50 mm up to more than 3000 mm.

The balanced flow channels, supported by various control options, allow us to produce sheets with narrow tolerances, helping to significantly reduce raw material consumption.

Production of Apex, Bead, Cap Strip, Hoses and Profiles

Our single extruders with tailor-made head designs can be used for a wide range of applications. They are utilized in tire applications, such as apex extrusion with our cap strip head, or in the production of hoses using our self-centering heads.

Covering of Rolls

With our roll covering machines, Covermatik and strip winding applications, we can cover rolls with diameters ranging from 5 mm up to 2500 mm. Through our optimized design, we help customers save cycle time.

Technology Center

At our global lead factory in Laatzen, Germany, we maintain one of the largest extrusion laboratories of the world. Offering space for 26 lines and machines, it covers the entire range of extrusion technologies.

For rubber extrusion, GE extruder, profile and hose heads are available. Additionally, a mini rollerhead as well as a three-roll calender offer you possibilities to test materials and processes.

Together with the capability of our analytical laboratory, we can join and support your development.

Turnkey Solutions

KraussMaffei Extrusion is not just a machine manufacturer, but a strong partner and part of your solution. Our services do not end with the manufacturing of extruders, aggregates and other equipment.
